A running list of DVC resort refurbishments scheduled for 2026 — pools, lobbies, and full villa refreshes that may affect your stay.
DVC resorts undergo periodic refurbishments funded by annual dues. Major refurbishments can close pools, restaurants, or entire room blocks for weeks or months. Booking around active refurbishments avoids construction noise, limited amenities, and unpleasant surprises.
BoardWalk Villas began a phased soft-goods refresh in late 2025 continuing through 2026 — new carpets, drapes, bedding, and bathroom upgrades. Building closures rotate; the resort remains operational throughout. Member impact is limited to occasional construction sound during the day. Reservations should not be cancelled but expect work crews on property.
The main Hospitality House pool at Old Key West entered a multi-month refurbishment in early 2026. The neighborhood pools remain open. Members staying in The Hospitality House area may want to walk to a neighborhood pool. Reopening expected late summer 2026.
Stormalong Bay typically has a 2-week annual maintenance closure each January. The 2026 closure ran January 5–18. The smaller "quiet pool" remained open. Future-year closures will follow a similar early-January pattern — book accordingly if pool time is central to your trip.
Polynesian's recent Island Tower addition (opened late 2024) is complete. Original Polynesian villas saw kitchen refreshes through 2025. 2026 work focuses on pool deck improvements and quiet pool refurbishment. No room block closures planned.
Disney rarely publishes refurbishment schedules in advance. Member forums (DISboards, DVC Members Facebook groups, /r/DVCMembers on Reddit) track active and upcoming refurbishments in real time. If a pool, restaurant, or specific amenity is central to your trip, search those forums for current status before locking in non-refundable plans.
