The Top of the World Lounge in 2026: Access, Times, and What to Actually Order

TOTWL moved to the Tower Club location and remains one of DVC's most valuable member-only perks. Here's the current access rules, best fireworks nights, and drink recommendations.

Where It Is Now

The Top of the World Lounge (TOTWL) relocated to the Bay Lake Tower Tower Club location in 2023. The lounge occupies the top-floor level at the Contemporary Resort area, accessible via a dedicated elevator from the BLT lobby. Access is restricted to registered DVC members and their guests. Non-members can visit as a member's registered guest but cannot enter alone.

Access Rules

Any active DVC member (blue-card or resale) can access TOTWL by tapping their Magic Band at the lounge entrance. Members can bring up to 4 guests. There is no advance reservation required most nights; the space uses a first-come, first-served model. On peak fireworks nights (holiday weeks, Fourth of July, New Year's Eve), members may need to arrive 60–90 minutes before fireworks to secure indoor seating.

Best Fireworks Nights

Fireworks nights are the reason TOTWL exists in members' minds. Best crowd conditions: Sunday through Thursday, non-holiday weeks, arriving 30 minutes before fireworks time. Skip: Friday and Saturday of any week, Christmas week, and Fourth of July weekend. The outdoor terrace fills first — indoor bar seating has partial fireworks views but full climate control and no line for drinks.

Drink Menu Highlights

Signature cocktails rotate quarterly. Perennial favorites include the Bay Lake Manhattan (Woodford Reserve, house bitters, Cinderella cherry) and the Sorcerer's Kiss (butterfly-pea gin, lavender, tonic, color-change). Beer selection is limited but includes a rotating Florida craft option. Wine list is curated but small. Non-alcoholic mocktail menu is genuinely well-designed — the Sparkling Serenity is a standout.

Food Options

TOTWL is a lounge, not a restaurant. Food menu is snack-focused: shareable charcuterie board, cheese plates, hummus with warm flatbread, sliders, chicken skewers. Nothing on the menu is a full meal, but the shareable options work for 2–4 guests as a pre-fireworks appetizer. Eat dinner elsewhere and come to TOTWL for drinks and dessert.

Kid Policy

Children are welcome accompanied by an adult member. There is no separate kids' menu but the mocktail list is genuine, and the fireworks view is unmatched for young viewers. Strollers are permitted but consume floor space; families with strollers should arrive early to claim a corner seat.

Insider Details

Order the color-change Sorcerer's Kiss before the fireworks countdown for the visual timing effect. If seating is full, order drinks at the bar and stand at the terrace rail — the view from the rail is as good as the tables. TOTWL closes 30 minutes after fireworks end; guests are politely walked out. Cash tips at the bar are appreciated and remembered on repeat visits.
