Saratoga Springs is the largest DVC resort by room count, spanning multiple "neighborhoods" (Congress Park, The Grandstand, The Springs, The Carousel, The Paddock) across hundreds of acres. The sprawl is both its strength (always wide availability) and its weakness (long walks within the resort, slow bus service).
Saratoga sits across the water from Disney Springs — a 10-minute walk over the bridge or a quick boat ride. Disney Springs offers 50+ restaurants, AMC theater, House of Blues, Cirque du Soleil, and shopping. For non-park evenings, Saratoga's Disney Springs access is unmatched by any other DVC resort.
Saratoga's point charts are consistently among the lowest in the system. Standard View Studios run 8–14 points/night depending on season. A 7-night summer stay in a one-bedroom costs 100–180 points — significantly less than the same trip at a monorail resort. For budget-conscious DVC members, Saratoga delivers the most nights per point.
The Treehouse Villas — elevated three-bedroom cabins in a wooded area — are a Saratoga signature. They sleep 9 and feel like vacation homes more than hotel rooms. Booking the Treehouses requires 11-month priority — they sell out fast. Available point cost is high (often 60+ points/night) but the experience is genuinely unique within DVC.
Bus-only to all parks. Bus service from the various neighborhood stops can be slow during peak times. Magic Kingdom requires a transfer at Disney Springs sometimes. This is the resort's biggest practical drawback. Members who park-hop frequently or have tight dining reservations may find the bus dependency frustrating.
Three pools across the resort. The High Rock Spring pool features a 128-foot slide and is the main family pool. The other pools are quieter. The resort has its own spa, golf course (Lake Buena Vista Golf Club next door), and Artist's Palette quick service. The atmosphere is calm and uncrowded compared to monorail resorts.
Saratoga is the smart buy for members who care more about getting to Disney annually than about staying at premium resorts. The combination of lowest resale price, lowest annual dues, and lowest point chart means Saratoga delivers more nights per dollar than any other DVC home resort. Use 11-month priority for Treehouses; book everywhere else at 7 months.
