Wake up to views of roaming wildlife on the savanna at this African-inspired resort within Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas at Jambo House occupies a wing of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is widely considered the most immersive resort on Walt Disney World property. The Villas at Jambo House opened in 2007, with rooms looking out onto one of three private savannas (Arusha, Sunset, and Uzima) where giraffes, zebras, bongos, ankole cattle, ostriches, kudu, and dozens of other African species roam freely from morning until dusk.
The Lodge itself is staggering in scope and detail. The lobby is a six-story thatched-roof rotunda with hand-carved African artifacts, a suspended walkway, and floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the savanna. Cultural representatives from across Africa are stationed throughout the resort and host daily storytelling, animal-spotting walks, and educational programs. Night-vision viewing experiences let you spot animals after dark — a unique offering at any Disney resort.
From a points perspective, AKV — Jambo House is one of the better values on property: room categories range from Standard View (parking lot or pool), Savanna View (the headline experience), Pool View, and Concierge-level Club access. The villas were among the first at Disney to feature the larger 'Grand Villa' floorplan, with three bedrooms sleeping up to 12. Buses are the only transportation option to all four parks, but service to Animal Kingdom is short (10–15 minutes).
Bus service to all four theme parks, Disney Springs, and the water parks. Internal shuttle to Kidani Village. No monorail, boat, or walking access to parks — Animal Kingdom Lodge is the most isolated of the deluxe resorts, which is part of its quiet appeal.
Wildlife enthusiasts, families with kids who love animals, anyone who values resort theming and ambiance over park proximity, and travelers who want the feeling of an African safari lodge without leaving Florida.
Jiko — The Cooking Place is a signature African-fusion restaurant with an extensive South African wine list. Boma — Flavors of Africa is a buffet beloved for its breakfast and dinner spreads featuring foods from across the continent. Sanaa, located in nearby Kidani Village, serves Indian-African fusion and offers savanna views from many tables.
