A European-inspired resort on the Disney Skyliner route, blending the glamour of the French and Italian Rivieras.
Disney's Riviera Resort opened in December 2019 as Walt Disney World's 15th DVC property, themed to the storied Mediterranean coastlines of France and Italy that Walt Disney himself visited in the 1930s. The resort is designed as a single grand European-style hotel with intricately tiled lobby floors, Renaissance-inspired murals, hand-blown Murano glass chandeliers, and elegant sitting areas throughout.
Riviera was the first DVC resort built directly on the Disney Skyliner gondola route, with its own dedicated station that connects directly to EPCOT (via the International Gateway) and Hollywood Studios in roughly 5β10 minutes each way. This single perk transformed travel between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios for thousands of guests at the resorts on the Skyliner loop, and the Riviera's location on it is a significant competitive advantage.
Room categories are unusual at Riviera. In addition to standard Deluxe Studios, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom villas, Riviera introduced the Tower Studio β a small, sleeps-two studio with a Murphy bed, a kitchenette, and no full kitchen. Tower Studios price out at among the lowest points-per-night DVC accommodations on property, making them especially valuable for couples and solo travelers. Riviera contracts also have a unique restriction: resale buyers can only book at Riviera itself, not at other DVC resorts.
Disney Skyliner direct to EPCOT International Gateway and Hollywood Studios (5β10 minutes each). Bus service to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the water parks. Walking path to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.
Couples (especially in Tower Studios), foodies who want quick Skyliner access to EPCOT's World Showcase, anyone who wants the newest DVC property at WDW with the longest contract life (2070), and guests who want a hotel-style resort feel.
Topolino's Terrace β Flavors of the Riviera is a rooftop signature restaurant serving a popular character breakfast with Mickey, Minnie, and friends in artistic outfits. Bar Riva is a sleek lobby bar. Primo Piatto is a quick-service spot with strong breakfast pastries and Mediterranean entrΓ©es. Le Petit CafΓ© is a coffee-and-pastry bar in the lobby.
